Episode 2 is a great episode for team building and bonding friendships. This episode we meet some supporting characters such as detective Sophie Song, Evan, and Amber Calcaterra. We as the audience figure out who Peacemakers father really is. After the cliffhanger from the previous episode, we have more team building and a setup for the next mission.
This episode opens from the previous cliffhanger in the last episode, we meet another one of our protagonists ,detective Sophie Song, as she pulls up to the crime scene/death of Annie Sturphausen. Peacemaker makes his way back to her apartment to grab his stuff and steal some of hers. He makes his way up to the top floor to find another way out due to cops surrounding the place. We then meet Evan and Amber because Peacemaker pushes his way into their home and holds them hostage. Knowing that he needs to escape, he jumps off the top story to lower stories with the help of Emilia Harcourt using tranquilizing darts at the pursuing police to give him some coverage. This episode uses over-the-top violence and heavy themes to make the episode feel more realistic and grounded by having a high body count of police officers and Annie.
Adebayo, Harcourt, and Peacemaker make their way back to base of operations. We come to realize that the only way to divert suspicion from the police was to frame Auggie Smith, also known as Chris/Peacemaker’s dad because Economos couldn’t think of anyone else to frame. Murn orders Adebayo to go take care of Evan and Amber by bribing them, we also meet Peacemaker back at his home crying because he accidentally killed his brother when he was younger and he’s killed all the people he’s cared about. Vigilante appears at his house and tries to give him motivation by going to the woods and exploding saved items later “partying”. This episode uses emotional depth and friendship as its pillars to help you start to feel sympathy for our once murderous friend from TSS by showing him crying, working with Emilia to get out of a bad situation, and having fun with Vigilante in the woods.
