Episode 3 shows us our team’s first mission going sideways while also introducing us to two more crucial characters to the story. The team is tasked with taking out a U.S Senator also known as Royland Goff, who is a suspected butterfly host along with his family. Peacemaker struggles with the task, Vigilante unknowingly followed the group to the mission and helps Peacemaker with the task, giving us a new team dynamic.
This episode opens with our beloved team setting up to take out Goff, they hide about 40 yards in front of the house. They observe Goff on and off and when he arrives, he seems happy to be there and when he and his family go inside the house they change and have no mood. Murn orders Peacemaker to do the task and when he struggles to do it, Vigilante steps in to help his friend. When Vigilante is about to finish the task, he, Peacemaker, and Harcourt are stopped by a mysterious new character named Judomaster. I like this episode because it builds Peacemaker’s character, making him feel more human. This episode gave him doubt and untrustworthiness for himself by not taking the shot.
Judomaster and Goff captured Peacemaker and Vigilante and are holding them hostage to get some answers out of them to figure out how or why they know what butterflies are. Murn, Adebayo, and Harcourt make their way into Goff’s house for a rescue mission, and upon Judomaster trying to escape John Economos crashes the team van into Judo’s car. Peacemaker and Vigilante free themselves and take down Goff before the others make it down, making it a successful mission. Teamwork and the nature of Friendship are built in this episode by showing the group working together and putting effort into everything. Overall, a great episode for this series with more character and story building.
This episode’s music highlights include “Powertrain” by Enemies SWE, “Six Feet Under” by Kissin’ Dynamite, and the outro song “Push Push (Lady Lightning)” by Bang Camaro.
